Andrea Lozano has made art for as long as she can remember. Growing up in Mexico City, she spent many hours surrounded by fascinating sights and colors that filled her with a need to express herself visually. 

A trained and practiced artist, Andrea is moved to be fully present in her appreciation and visual interpretation of people, places and things in her immediate surroundings –whether in her present hometown of Ann Arbor, MI or during her travels.  

In her portrait work, she seeks to not only capture likenesses, but to represent a person’s essence in a variety of mediums –such as watercolor, acrylics, oils, soft pastels, charcoal and ink.

As an avid Urban Sketcher, she distills moments in time through spontaneous ink and watercolor sketches on location of any subject that captures her attention –such as streets, buildings, plants, animals or people. 

Andrea has digitally illustrated several books, often using humor.

An Art Educator, with experience in Secondary Education and Adult Classes, has led her to work on the art of teaching others what she has learned over 45 years of practice. 

She sells her work directly and is also represented by the Artist Guild at the Gutman Gallery in Ann Arbor, MI.
